Ian Taylor, Gib Steele, Stuart Orr and Douglas Mack enjoyed a very good evening's curling at The Peak in Stirling to celebrate the 225th anniversary of the founding of Bridge of Allan curling club. All those representing Pollok at this event took part in the 100th match between our clubs during Ian Taylor's presidency in 2008/2009 and a photograph of those involved can be found in the Gallery on this website.
You will be interested to know that of all the clubs invited to celebrate with Bridge of Allan, Pollok were the only "foreigners" with all other teams being based locally. We are pleased that our long association with Bridge of Allan continues and look forward to the next 100 years of competitive but friendly matches.
Ian Taylor who skipped had to make a speech as a prize-winner - sadly it was the wooden spoon. (Actually it was chopsticks brought back from a recent trip to Singapore by the Bridge of Allan President.) They will be placed in the Trophy Cabinet in due course!
