The semi finals of the Eastwood were played on the afternoon of the 28th November and the evening of the 30th November.
In the first match Team 4 - Paterson (Skip), Whyte, Leslie and Cockburn managed to overcome Team 3 - Steele (Skip), G. Anderson, Taylor and Sloan who had negotiated their way through the Preliminary round. The match was noteable for some inspired shot making from Skip Paterson and allowed his team to win by 1 shot - 7 to 6.
The other semi-final played tonight was also a very competitive game - every end went with the "Hammer" and after 7 ends the score was 8 all. The first stone of the 8th end was delivered 30 seconds before the buzzer, thus saving Stuart Orr and Alastair Robertson the terrors of "Skips stones". With the last 4 stones to go, Stuart's team were lying 1 shot - on the "Button". Alastair managed to make a raise take out on the shot stone to whoops & hollers from his team members - McQuilkin, McIntosh & Carnan! Commiserations to Stuart's team Maurice Paterson, Stuart Boyle & Roy Muir. All agreed it was a hugely enjoyable game and played in the best Pollok spirit.
The final is set for 6pm on Wednesday 7th December at Greenacres.
